Bespoke Staircases
Our approach to bespoke staircases
From traditional oak and painted staircases to contemporary open-tread and cantilevered designs, every staircase we make is drawn, engineered and built to order in our Exeter workshop.
We work closely with homeowners, architects and builders to make sure the finished staircase is beautiful, safe and structurally sound, from the first sketch through to fitting.
Staircases we make
Oak Staircases
Solid and engineered oak staircases, from traditional cut-string flights to open-tread designs, with the grain left to do the work.
Learn morePainted Staircases
Painted strings and risers with hardwood treads and handrail, a combination that suits most houses and costs a good deal less than oak throughout.
Staircase Renovation & Refurbishment
New treads, handrails, spindles or a full rebuild, bringing a tired staircase up to current regulations without replacing the structure.
Loft Conversion Staircases
Flights designed for the awkward headroom and tight footprints a loft conversion leaves, including winders and space-saver layouts.
Floating & Cantilevered Staircases
Open-tread and cantilevered designs where the treads appear to float, with the supporting structure kept out of sight.
Commercial Staircases
Staircases for offices, retail and hospitality, built to the same standard as our domestic work and specified to meet commercial regulations.

Why go for a bespoke staircase?
A made-to-measure staircase means everything (treads, risers, handrails, balustrade) is designed for your home. That gives you complete control over the look, the feel underfoot and how it works alongside the rest of the property.
